If you are going to bring a boat to the show, please fill out the Registration Form as soon as you can and return it to the Port of Toledo either by email or snail mail. It makes everything easier for them if they know well ahead of time how many boats are coming. If you would like to have a commercial booth or other dry-land display that's not a boat, please contact the Port for more information.

The Port of Toledo Wooden Boat Show is one of the Coots' favorite events. The organizers treat us real good, and there are lots of interesting boats and nice people there. Although not a Coot sponsored event, the Toledo Boat Show is a major Coot gathering, and the Oregon Coots TSCA Chapter annual meeting is held there Saturday evening.

Toledo is a small city located on the Yaquina River, about 12 miles from its mouth, inland from Newport on the central Oregon coast. Its main industry is a large paper mill. The Port of Toledo runs a boatyard nearby, and Yaquina Boat Equipment services large fishing boats next to the port docks. Coot Andrew Linn manages the Toledo Community Boathouse, which will be right in the middle of the show. The Yaquina Pacific Railroad Historical Society has a museum right next door.

Boats may be displayed in the water or on land. The nearest launch ramp is about 2 miles from the show, down the Yaquina River near the airport. The tide will be favorable for getting from the ramp to the show Friday afternoon. The tide will be favorable for returning to the ramp Sunday afternoon, if you're polite enough to stay until the show closes at 4:00. You can probably bum a tow from a motorboat if you ask nicely. Always stay on the outside of the river bend near the boatyard, no matter how tempting a shortcut may look.

There will be free dry camping available for exhibitors in an old mill site next to the show. It's OK to sleep on your boat. There is a pancake breakfast Saturday and Sunday mornings, and food vendors will offer several lunch options. Coots will be gathering at Pig Feathers BBQ, across the street from the show for dinners.

Events during the show will include boatbuilding, boat rides, a poker paddle and cardboard boat races. The Boathouse will be loaning out rowboats and canoes. More information can be found on the Official Port of Toledo Wooden Boat Show Web page.
